Folks
I hope you are all feeling recovered afer a tremendous session on the bikes last Thursday night at the Old Library Trust Healthy Living Centre.
For those of you who were not familiar with Stephen Webb the instructor, you can perhaps see now why I hold him in such such high esteem as a trainer. I thought his session last although murderously tough at times, was absolutely superb for the cyclist -informative & motivating. Full credit to you all for putting in 110% effort and taking yourselves well out of the comfort zone. People are what make these sessions enjoyable, the banter and craic before the start , the tough sesion work out (groans and all!), the motivational speeches by the instructor, the fullness of response from the participants, are all the ingredients that make these sessions enjoyable and empowering. A turbo trainer just doesn’t do that for me anyway. I have no doubt you all will be fighting fit come the start of March I for one am certainly looking forward to the seven weeks that lie ahead in your company.
A couple of minor points I would like to make:
o Feel free to rotate around the room on each visit.
o I noticed one or two people without water – Remember to always bring a bottle of water. These rooms can get really hot as you will appreciate last night.
o Remember to drink water afterwards too when you go home to avoid dehydration
o Lockers – the changing rooms unfortunately do not have lockers so feel free to bring your sports bag into the room.
o The facility have asked that each person clean their bike after use with the sanitation spray and towelling provided – thanks for adhering to this last night.
Finally, We now have all bikes FULLY BOOKED and paid for – thank you all. If for any reason you cannot make a session, drop me an email or text to let me know. I can then offer the bike to some folk on the standby list – I’m sure they’d appreciate the opportunity to do the odd class or two.
Thanks again for a tremendous turn out and see you all on Thursday night to do it all over again

Folks
Hope you all have had a great Christmas and New Year.
This is just a reminder to you all that the FCC spin classes will begin this week. As mentioned before Christmas, the location for the classes had to be moved but we now have a firm booking in a good facility.
It is the Old Library Trust Healthy Living Centre, on Central drive in the city. I have been using the facility myself over these past few weeks and its indeed an excellent modern facility, fully equipped with a spin room and studio. Very clean male & female showering/changing facilities are there for those who wish to avail. The Spin room is modern with good ventilation and the bikes are brand new so I can fully endorse the use of the facility. Indeed I have seen a few of our own FCC members enjoying their facilities. The Old Library Trust Healthy Living Centre is a brand new building despite its name, and overlooks the nearby Bishops Field floodlit 3G football and outdoor recreational pitches. Details of address /tel no.can be found at http://www.olt.ie/ Parking is to the side of the building on the right of the main entrance. The facility re-opens on 3rd January so I have agreed a start date for THURSDAY 5th JANUARY AT 7.30pm.. (Note the new date & time folks)
The cost remains unchanged. It will cost each person £25.00 for all sessions. (If you can pay this ‘up-front’ to myself on the 1st night that would be ideal) This covers the cost of room hire and cost of the experienced instructor. He will tailor a programme suited to cyclists and I am sure you will all really enjoy his sessions. Again, if you have a heart rate monitor, bring it with you as it will prove very useful for these sessions.
I hope you will enjoy the programme. It will provide good base level training in a very nice environment during the winter months. I for one am certainly looking forward to it and of course seeing you there. This will take us through the January & February months and leave us all fighting fit for the better weather ahead come March
Finally I would like to apologise for the ‘shunting’ of the start up date but atleast now we have a confirmed facility that meets the standard. Hopefully you will all be eager to go come the 5th!!
PS Can I just ask that each recipient confirm their attendance to me directly either by reply to this email or by contacting me on 07895713221. IF ANYONE IS STILL LOOKING FOR A PLACE, GET IN CONTACT WITH ME ASAP.
Kindest RegardsAllan MallettFCC
